Many people in Newcastle remember last year’s disappointing 4th of July fireworks show along the shores of Lake Boren. Technical difficulties shortened the display, which was supposed to be 12 minutes in length.
Wendy Kirchner, community activities liaison for Newcastle, has reported that Entertainment Fireworks, Inc., the company contracted for the fireworks show this year and last, has committed to provide an error-free show this year.
Lake Boren Park will open to residents at 6pm on July 4th. Vendors selling food and drink as well as live performances by band Soul Siren will commence between 8 and 10pm. The fireworks will begin shortly after dark and after the band finishes their performance.
