Seattle New Home Construction Update: August 2014

August 26, 2014

Seattle is Western Washington's largest city by population, but third largest in terms of new construction listings at the moment, lagging behind new homes in Bothell and new homes in Puyallup. As of this writing there are 147 new homes (125 houses and 22 condos), across 22 communities available in Seattle, compared to Bothell's 164 and Puyallup's 149. The Seattle new construction market, however, is about twice the size of Puyallup's at $108.2m compared to $49.9m. Bothell has a larger new home market than Puyallup but isn't as big as Seattle at $90.2m.

The average listing price for a new home in Seattle is $735,804. Most single family homes are much more expensive, especially when being built in established communities such as Madison Park and Queen Anne.

Some of Western Washington's most active home builders, including Toll Brothers Camwest, are active in Seattle.
