One of the city's most popular activities is a trip to Alderwood, the city's biggest shopping mall. Many come from long distances to visit the indoor-outdoor mall, which has more than 150 stores and restaurants. Alderwood also has two movie theaters.
For those that enjoy spending a day outside, Lynnwood also has many unique, local parks. North Lynnwood Park is one that caters to children and families. The park has both a regular and an aquatic playground, covered seating areas and large grassy fields, perfect for picnics. Scriber Lake Park is another park located in Lynnwood. Situated over wetlands, Scribner has a large floating boardwalk for guests as well as 1 mile of walking trails.
Heritage Park is another great destination for visitors. The park houses many historical buildings from the early 20th century, including the Wicker's Building, an old general store and post office. A century-old interurban train can also be spotted at Heritage Park.

Downtown Lynnwood is just a few minutes' drive from I-5, a state route that runs north to south. This provides fairly quick access to the University of Washington, as well as downtown Seattle. Likewise, Lynnwood is situated very close to I-405. This runs north and south on the eastside of Lake Washington. This freeway would be the best option for those commuting from Lynnwood to Bellevue or Redmond.
Lynnwood is also about 10 minutes from the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry.
